Bodocs is proud to be affiliated with the Arthur Morrice Eye practice, a Consultant led independent ophthalmic practice with clinics in Knightsbridge, Hampstead & Harley Street.

The Arthur Morrice Eye practice prides itself on premium ophthalmic care and the laser eye service is headed by Mr Ali A. Mearza MB BS, FRCOphth, the Clinical Director and a specialist in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Mr Mearza has full specialist registration with the General Medical Council and is one of only a handful of surgeons in the UK who is fellowship trained in both Cornea and Refractive surgery.

He qualified from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School (Now part of Imperial College) in 1996 and began his training in Ophthalmology in 1998. He completed his training in London and went on to complete a years fellowship in Cornea & External eye disease at the world renowned Moorfields NHS Trust. He followed this with an additional fellowship in laser refractive eye surgery on the island of Crete, the birthplace of modern LASIK.

He has a keen interest in clinical research and has over 15 peer reviewed publications and over 20 published abstracts to his name and is an invited journal reviewer.

He has presented his work at numerous prestigious National and International meetings and in addition has been an invited speaker to faculty in London, Greece and Australia.

His also has a keen interest in voluntary ophthalmology and has performed charitable work in India, Bali & Myanmar (formerly Burma).

Mr Mearza is a member of the European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, the International Society of Refractive Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
